July 13 was opening night for\u00a0The Whoopi Monologues<\/a> Off-Broadway at Lincoln Center Theater’s Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, and the reviews are in. See what critics had to say below.<\/p>\n

The run continues through August 30. Whitney White (Liberation) is directing.<\/p>\n

The work sees five actors\u2014Kerry Washington, Kara Young, Kecia Lewis, Dominique Fishback, and Danielle Pinnock\u2014recreating solo monologues written and originally performed by the legendary Whoopi Goldberg, in her 1983 Broadway solo show Whoopi Goldberg and its 2004 follow-up Whoopi. Understudies Kai Heath, Denise Manning, and Pavar Snipe round out the company.<\/p>\n
