The almighty Queens Of The Stone Age have announced a return down under, playing big shows this December in Adelaide, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Newcastle.<\/p>\n

As if one of modern rock’s most important and interesting bands wasn’t drawcard enough, QOTSA have secured a kick-ass support line-up. Namely, one of the wildest cult acts of the ’90s, Primus.<\/p>\n

Led by bass wizard Les Claypool, the San Franciscan trio play their first Australian shows since 2018.<\/p>\n

Get down early to also catch Tropical F**k Storm, makers of sublimely unsettling, innovative rock<\/a> and renowned live performers.<\/p>\n

“I’m really looking forward to it,” frontman Josh Homme tells Double J.<\/p>\n

“I’d hate to give everything away but there’s going to be pieces of lots of things.”<\/p>\n

If recent overseas setlists are anything to go by, that means pulling out deep cuts and rarities that haven’t been aired in almost 20 years (including Run, Pig, Run and non-album track The Machine Took a S**t and Died). Plus, your first chance to hear surprise new stripped-back single ‘Easy Street’.<\/p>\n

Among the most visceral, vicious, sexiest things to ever happen to rock music, Queens Of The Stone Age have spent 30 years near the top tier<\/a> of a genre that’s waxed and waned while iterating upon their sound.<\/p>\n

From desert-hewn riffage to seductive swagger and reworking their own legacy in the haunting, stripped back arrangements of last year’s Alive At The Catacombs, they’re a group that keep redefining their own boundaries.<\/p>\n

They’re also a must-see live act, and any chance to see them outside a festival setting is one worth grabbing, especially in a triple bill such as this.<\/p>\n
