\n\tQueens of the Stone Age <\/a>is back with new music, and the announcement of an extended tour that will see the rockers finish the year touring the lands down under.<\/p>\n

\n\tBut first, the arrival of QOTSA\u2019s new single \u201cEasy Street\u201d\u00a0(via Matador Records \/ Remote Control Records), the band\u2019s first new song since 2023\u2019s\u00a0In Times New Roman.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tFeaturing vocals from Nikki Lane, the mid-tempo \u201cEasy\u00a0Street\u2019 is accompanied by a weird and wonderful music video directed by\u00a0Tony Wolski\u00a0and\u00a0Christopher Gruse, based on a story and idea by frontman Josh Homme.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s kind of a funny song,\u201d remarks Homme, who produced it with Michael Shuman. \u201cIt\u2019s like hitting your funny bone, where it\u2019s funny because it hurts and it hurts because it\u2019s funny. You\u2019re serious, but it\u2019s funny,\u201d he continues. \u201cWe made it the way you\u2019d make a demo. No click track, mistakes left in. It speeds up, it slows down, the claps aren\u2019t great, but they\u2019re not bad, and a bad clap adds this human thing you can\u2019t fake.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continues, \u201cIt\u2019s not just about silliness. It\u2019s about understanding the imperfection of your life. The song, like your life, is in the mistakes. Its imperfections are unbeatable.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWith new music comes additional tour dates. As the new Australasian itinerary currently stands, Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore will embark on a seven-city visit of capital cities and at least two regional centers.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn that route, the band will play a mix of outdoor and arena shows, starting Dec. 8 at Adelaide\u2019s The Drive. The QOTSA show will hit the road for arena concerts in Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, and wrap up Dec. 20 at Auckland\u2019s Spark Arena.<\/p>\n

\n\tAustralian and New Zealand fans will be the first to experience a brand-new show following QOTSA\u2019s current European tour with System of a Down and scheduled U.S. dates with Foo Fighters, plus a headline show in Iceland set for October, according to Live Nation<\/a>, which is production the run of Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n

\n\tSpecial guests on the tour are \u201890s alternative rockers Primus\u00a0and homegrown experimental art-punk quartet\u00a0Tropical F*ck Storm.<\/p>\n
