Queens of the Stone Age<\/a> have returned with their first new music in three years.<\/p>\n

The legendary rock band – who are currently in the midst of a tour alongside metal outfit System of a Down – have offered up their first new music since the release of their 2023 album \u2018In Times New Roman\u2026\u2019<\/a> (not counting last year\u2019s atmospheric Parisian release, \u2018Alive In The Catacombs\u2019<\/a>), in the form of \u2018Easy Street\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n

An admittedly lighter offering than we\u2019re used to from the titans, the track also features an appearance from singer Nikki Lane, who adds a further levity to the whole thing. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of a funny song. It\u2019s like hitting your funny bone, where it\u2019s funny because it hurts and it hurts because it\u2019s funny. You\u2019re serious, but it\u2019s funny,\u201d the band\u2019s Josh Homme has said, of the song. \u201cWe made it the way you\u2019d make a demo. No click track, mistakes left in. It speeds up, it slows down, the claps aren\u2019t great, but they\u2019re not bad, and a bad clap adds this human thing you can\u2019t fake. It\u2019s not just about silliness. It\u2019s about understanding the imperfection of your life. The song, like your life, is in the mistakes. Its imperfections are unbeatable.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

As well as the track itself, the band have shared a decidedly surreal video clip to accompany it, as directed by Tony Wolski and Christopher Gruse, and inspired by an idea from Josh – who is, unsurprisingly, the clip\u2019s main protagonist. Watch it below.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As mentioned, the band are currently out on the road alongside System of a Down, and will join Foo Fighters for a series of shows later this summer. Check out their upcoming live schedule below.<\/p>\n
