The 47-year-old victim, who hasn\u2019t been identified, was waiting on the southbound platform at the Fordham Road\/Grand Concourse station around 2:20 p.m. June 27 when the unhinged attacker pushed him into an arriving D train, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The shove was unprovoked and the assailant \u2014 who did not know the victim \u2014 said nothing to him beforehand, according to authorities and sources.<\/p>\n

The victim did not fall onto the tracks, but he hit his head on the moving train car, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition with injuries to his mouth and face, authorities said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the suspect fled on foot and remains on the loose more than two weeks later, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Blurry surveillance footage shows the lanky suspect pacing around the subway car wearing a white undershirt and dark-colored pants.<\/p>\n
Major crime in the city\u2019s subway system was down by about 1% in June, compared to last year, according to NYPD data released earlier this month.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But felony assaults, specifically, were up by 20 incidents in the month, according to the department.<\/p>\n
Felony assault arrests on the rails also increased by 9% through the first six months of the year, the department said.<\/p>\n
