Adam Lambert\u00a0said touring with Queen paid off in a big\u00a0way,\u00a0and he meant\u00a0it literally.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The American Idol alum revealed how\u00a0his decade-plus run with\u00a0the British rock band\u00a0has\u00a0impacted\u00a0both his career and his finances.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with journalist\u00a0David Begnaud<\/a>, the singer admitted that spending years touring with the legendary rock band not only fulfilled a lifelong dream but also provided him with significant financial security.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Adam\u00a0Lambert Reflects on His Time With Queen<\/p>\n

Lambert first teamed up with Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor in 2009 after appearing on\u00a0American Idol. What began as a one-off collaboration eventually evolved into Queen + Adam Lambert, a partnership that has toured the world for more than a decade.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Looking back on the experience, Lambert said\u00a0\u201cIt’s\u00a0been amazing.\u00a0They’ve\u00a0taught me a lot, both directly and indirectly. Just being around them and hearing stories,\u00a0I’ve\u00a0learned a lot about the world, hearing these\u00a0great stories.\u00a0Also just being in the proximity of them on stage playing these iconic pieces of music, osmosis.\u00a0It rubs off on you, the gravity of that.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018It Really Did Put Some Coins in the Bank\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lambert\u00a0also\u00a0acknowledged that touring with Queen has been\u00a0financially\u00a0rewarding.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Yeah, I will say\u00a0Queen\u00a0really did put some coins in the bank, which was nice,” he said. Still, he emphasized that he made sure everybody in the audience\u00a0was\u00a0enjoying\u00a0it and that he\u00a0felt\u00a0he earned the money that he made.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He\u00a0added, \u201cI really want everyone to enjoy themselves when they come to these shows, whether\u00a0it’s\u00a0a joyful moment where\u00a0they’re\u00a0laughing with me or\u00a0it’s\u00a0completely cathartic and dramatic and they’re feeling something deeply.\u00a0I’m\u00a0very concerned\u00a0with\u00a0the audience. I always have been. And even in these songwriting sessions for my solo stuff, that’s\u00a0sort of what\u00a0I bring to the table, is I bring, ‘Let’s\u00a0zoom out. How is this\u00a0gonna\u00a0make a listener feel? What do I want the listener to experience or\u00a0understand?’\u00a0I always think about a show\u2026\u00a0‘Cause\u00a0I\u00a0wanna\u00a0drive a certain journey.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Future Queen Tours\u00a0<\/p>\n

Queen reuniting again seems to be unlikely despite Taylor and Lambert both\u00a0stating\u00a0they are open to touring again.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Speaking about\u00a0the\u00a0prospect of performing with the band again, Lambert said<\/a> in\u00a0a previous\u00a0interview that there are currently no concrete plans in place.\u00a0\u201cThere’s nothing on the books with\u00a0Queen,\u201d Lambert explained. \u201cWe’ve never had the conversation saying\u00a0we’re\u00a0done, but\u00a0there’s\u00a0nothing\u00a0actually planned\u00a0right now.\u00a0It’s\u00a0sort of up\u00a0to\u00a0them.\u00a0They\u2019re\u00a0the\u00a0boss.\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0the\u00a0guest. If they call me and say, ‘Hey, we\u00a0wanna\u00a0tour again,’\u00a0I’ll\u00a0say, ‘Yeah, sure, I’d love to.'”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Taylor, on the other hand, said\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0up to May. \u201cWell, it\u00a0is\u00a0a big machine to gear up, if you know what I mean. But,\u00a0yeah, really, I think\u00a0it’s\u00a0more down to\u00a0Brian\u00a0than me. I love playing live. I enjoy it, always\u00a0have.\u00a0It’s really how he feels about it.\u00a0So\u00a0if we both\u00a0wanna\u00a0do it,\u00a0I’d\u00a0be happy\u00a0to. But\u00a0we’ll\u00a0see. Never say never. We have been working for a while with Adam Lambert, who has the most incredible voice.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
