NEW YORK (PIX11) \u2014 Following a day of extreme heat, severe thunderstorms are making their way through the city on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
A severe thunderstorm warning has expanded to include the entire. Warnings are also in effect for parts of Northeastern New Jersey and Nassau County on Long Island.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0More Local News\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n The warning is in effect until 5:45 p.m.<\/p>\n The thunderstorms are capable of producing 70 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail.\u00a0<\/p>\n Minor hail damage to vehicles is possible. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes and roofs.\u00a0<\/p>\n Continuous cloud-to-ground lightning is also occurring with the storm.<\/p>\n People are advised to move indoors immediately until the storm passes.<\/p>\n This is a developing story.
