On July 12, 2026, at approximately 9:13 p.m., troopers out of State Police Ellenville barracks responded to a report of a structure fire at a single-family residence on Baker Road in the Town of Rochester.<\/p>\n
The Accord Fire Department initially responded to the residence following the initial report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters were informed that occupant, identified as Joanne Carelli, 74, of Ellenville, and her dog were still inside the residence.<\/p>\n
Following suppression efforts, the fire was extinguished. Carelli and her dog were located inside the residence and were pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n
The Ulster County Fire Investigation Unit conducted a preliminary examination of the scene. At this time, there is no evidence of criminal activity.<\/p>\n
The investigation is ongoing. No further information is available at this time.<\/p>\n
