They say she lived just down the block from the crash site.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">According to the NYPD, a 63-year-old woman was driving the Lexus and making a right-hand turn from East 92nd Street onto Rutland Road when she drove onto the sidewalk.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The driver narrowly missed a building and crashed through a sign before striking James.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Police say paramedics pronounced the 80-year-old dead on the scene.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The 63-year-old remained on site after the crash, according to the NYPD. News 12 cameras captured the driver&#8217;s damaged white Lexus on the sidewalk, surrounded by crime scene tape.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">A second person was taken to Brookdale Hospital.
