In my recent interview with Rande Gerber he shared the following in his own words<\/p>\n
“I’ve never been someone who sits still for very long. Wherever I am, I like to start the day moving. Maybe it’s a run on the beach, a workout, getting out on the water, or anything outdoors before the day gets going. There’s something about fresh air, sunshine, and a clear mind that sets the tone for everything else.<\/p>\n
The older I get, the more I realize the things that make me happiest are actually pretty simple: my family, good friends, good conversations, and being present. Whether I’m in Malibu, New York or Miami, I tend to gravitate toward places with great energy and good people. It’s always been less about where I am and more about who I’m with.<\/p>\n
I still appreciate a night out. I still like long dinners, live music, and sitting around with friends telling stories that somehow never get old. The difference today is that I want to actually remember all of it. I wake up the next morning ready to do it again.<\/p>\n
That’s one of the reasons I launched Crazy Mountain, my non-alcoholic beer. I still want to be part of the moment, sharing good dinners and hanging with friends, and on occasion that might include a few late nights.. I just want to feel good doing it.<\/p>\n
For years, luxury meant access. Today, I think luxury is health. It’s having the freedom to stay out late, get up early, be active, be present, and not miss a thing.”<\/p>\n

What’s your perfect way to start a day in Los Angeles?<\/p>\n
I’m always happiest outside. A hike or mountain bike ride in the Santa Monica Mountains is hard to beat, and Sandstone Peak is a cool spot to get out, clear my head, and recharge.<\/p>\n
Where do you go for dinner in Malibu?<\/p>\n
Caf\u00e9 Habana is always a favorite, and Malibu Seafood is one of those places I never get tired of. <\/p>\n
What are your go-to spots in Hollywood?<\/p>\n
Giorgio Baldi, Beverly Grill, and Craig’s. They’ve all been around for a while, and they still have great energy.<\/p>\n
Where do you spend time in the Hamptons?<\/p>\n
The Hills is for a few holes of golf with friends, Babette’s is great to start the day, Tutto Il Giorno is always a good choice for lunch or dinner, and during the summer, Surf Lodge and Sunset Beach are hard to beat.<\/p>\n

What are your favorite places in New York City?<\/p>\n
Corner Store, Balthazar, Zero Bond, and The Campbell. Each has its own personality, and they all remind me why I love spending time in New York.<\/p>\n
Where do you go when you’re in Nashville?<\/p>\n
Soho House is always a great place to catch up with people. Kid Rock’s The Detroit Cowboy is a fun night out, and I of course Troubadours got everything you need <\/p>\n
What about Miami?<\/p>\n
Forte dei Marmi, Sunny’s Steakhouse, The Surf Club Restaurant, Uchi, and Pastis. Miami’s restaurant scene just keeps getting better.<\/p>\n
What makes a place memorable to you?<\/p>\n
Honestly, it’s the people. A great restaurant or a beautiful setting is important, but the company is what you remember years later. That’s always been true for me.<\/p>\n
Has the way you travel and socialize changed over the years?<\/p>\n
Definitely. I still enjoy all the same things I always have. I just appreciate feeling good the next morning. That’s become part of the experience.
