A smoke device went off outside the 41-story government building at 26 Federal Plaza on Foley Square Monday, causing a scare, according to footage from the scene.<\/p>\n
Video shows smoke billowing from the ground outside the building, by Worth and Lafayette streets. Multiple officers are at the scene trying to assess the situation. Later, they appear to have a person on the ground. <\/p>\n
One person was taken into custody, officials confirmed. Preliminarily, a law enforcement source said it appears the suspect lit fireworks and possibly set something on fire.<\/p>\n
There were no immediate reports of injuries.<\/p>\n
26 Federal Plaza houses government agencies like the FBI and ICE. Federal officers made the arrest, the source said.<\/p>\n
