{"id":300704,"date":"2026-07-20T15:40:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-20T15:40:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/300704\/"},"modified":"2026-07-20T15:40:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-20T15:40:10","slug":"constable-man-charged-with-grand-larceny-allegedly-depositing-checks-twice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/300704\/","title":{"rendered":"Constable man charged with grand larceny, allegedly depositing checks twice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">MALONE, New York (WWNY) &#8211; New York State Police arrested a Constable man on July 19, 2026, and charged him with grand larceny and scheme to defraud after investigators say he double-deposited checks drawn from a former employer\u2019s bank account.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Skyler Lamere, 21, faces charges of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Scheme to Defraud in the First Degree.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Troopers responded to Spencer Road in the town of Malone on July 3, 2026 for a report of fraud.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">An investigation determined that Lamere, a former employee of the victim, fraudulently obtained $3,146.50 from the victim\u2019s bank account. The victim had paid Lamere by check, and those checks were initially deposited into Lamere\u2019s account. Investigators determined that Lamere later redeposited the same checks electronically, resulting in duplicate withdrawals from the victim\u2019s bank account.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">During the investigation, New York State Police worked with the bank\u2019s fraud department to document the fraudulent transactions and assist in resolving the matter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Lamere was arrested and processed at State Police Malone.
