In a city where virality goes hand in hand with food, the Summer Fancy Food Show blends together trendiness with diversity.\n<\/p>\n

The Summer Fancy Food Show, the largest specialty food and beverage event in North America, made its grand return to Manhattan June 28-30. Drawing over 32,000 buyers, distributors, retailers, and exhibitors to the Javits Center in Hudson Yards, the show mixed cultures and companies from across the globe for three days of innovation and collaboration.<\/p>\n

A strictly trade-only event, the show is only open to industry professionals such as retail buyers, exhibitors, or distributors. The annual show serves as a marketplace where food manufacturers debut new products, retailers scout emerging trends, and professional relationships are forged over free samples. Multiple floors of the Javits Center were filled with more than 2,500 eager exhibitors representing 57 countries, transforming the convention hall into a global showcase of gourmet food.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Each company has the opportunity to showcase the most prolific parts of their brand while also putting on a spectacle for attendees. Guests walking in are greeted to a range of eye-catching, mouth-watering displays. Attendees will see anything from fully-operating pizza ovens from Italy to towering displays of freshly-baked pastries. Live cooking demonstrations competed for attention from buyers while samples were passed around for all to share. Not a penny has been spared on making each booth and recipe more memorable than the next.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hosted by the Specialty Food Association, the show aims to help attendees highlight emerging trends \u00a0 \u00a0 within the specialty food industry, foster creativity in the kitchen, and connect people and businesses that otherwise would not have crossed paths..\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very international,\u201d says Melanie Bartz, who oversees U.S operations of The Ultimate Artichoke, a Spanish company specializing in confit artichoke hearts. \u201cYou have every ethnicity, every religion, any kind of certification. Whether it\u2019s kosher or vegan, you don\u2019t always get that \u2014 not to the extent that you get it here.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0For Bartz, one of the show\u2019s greatest strengths lies within the diversity of its exhibitors.\u201cYou\u2019re getting to know what other cultures are looking for. I was talking to a chef who said \u2018Why don\u2019t you do this? Because in Italy we\u2019re doing this, and this would be a great idea.\u2019 We\u2019re always bouncing ideas off of each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

New York City is no stranger to trending food. Because the show is hosted in one of the largest culinary capitals of the country, buyers and distributors note that the location creates the unique opportunity to spot trends before they reach the supermarket or dinner table.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s interesting to walk the floor and see all the different trends year over year, see what\u2019s changing, and get different ideas for our line of products,\u201d says Reza Zoroufie of Munch King Snacks, a gourmet snack company based locally in the Bronx. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of great decision makers here, I think that\u2019s because a lot of companies are based in New York. They just shoot right down to the Javits Center, their presence is known, and we can have those conversations in person at that moment.<\/p>\n

For attendees, the show is as much about discovering what\u2019s next as it is about conducting business. New product launches, inventive presentations, and international collaborations offered a preview of what consumers may be seeing in their local stores and restaurants in the coming months.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Stefano Amelio, founder of Sweet Craft Dolceria in California and an almost decade-long exhibitor at the Fancy Food Show, says New York remains the ideal backdrop for the largest culinary trade show in the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the Mecca of food and different experiences,\u201d Amelio says.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

The Summer Fancy Food Show will continue to be held in Manhattan at the Javits Center in 2027 and 2028, continuing its role as one of the specialty food industry\u2019s most illustrious annual gathering places.<\/p>\n
