MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – The City of Manhattan is gearing up for its annual Furniture Amnesty Day.<\/p>\n

13 NEWS checked out the event\u2019s new location Monday. It will be located in the A-2 parking lot at Kansas State University.<\/p>\n

The annual event invites the community and K-State students to donate furniture rather than throwing it out at the start of summer.<\/p>\n

It takes place Friday, July 24 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at no cost.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s totally free,\u201d Vivienne Leyva, City of Manhattan Public Information Officer said. \u201cYou don\u2019t have to pay a dime for it. It keeps furniture out of the landfill, and off the side of the street and gets it in the hands of people who can use it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Manhattan residents have until Wednesday at 5 p.m to sign up to have your furniture picked up by a crew.<\/p>\n
