The daredevil couple who got engaged<\/a> after climbing to the top of the Empire State Building on July 1 says the NYPD still has<\/a> their bling.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy engagement ring is still with the police,\u201d Angela Nikolau wrote on Instagram Monday night. \u201cSo is the banner we handmade and hung from the Empire State Building.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nikolau and her fianc\u00e9 Ivan \u201cVanya\u201d Kuznetsov were arrested earlier this month after reaching the top of the nation\u2019s most recognizable skyscraper<\/a> and raising a banner<\/a> reading \u201cWhen the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nikolau, 33, and Kuznetsov, 32, were charged<\/a> with burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and criminal tampering a day after completing their stunt.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors claim Kuznetsov, who also uses the last name Beerkus, told cops after he had wanted to \u201cdo something special\u201d when he proposed to Nikolau.<\/p>\n

Photos show him dropping to one knee and popping the question 1,450 feet above W. 34th Street. The pair says<\/a> they\u2019ve been climbing together since 2016.<\/p>\n

Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Anthony Giliberti accused Nikolau and Kuznetsov of participating in activities that \u201ccontinually create a risk to their own lives, as well as the lives of New Yorkers and first responders.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Russian couple, now living in New York City, documented their love of climbing \u2014 and for one another \u2014 in the 2024 Netflix documentary \u201cSkywalkers: A Love Story.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police officials couldn\u2019t immediately be reached for comment.<\/p>\n
