Seats were so full, in fact, that it was standing room only at the Booth Theatre, which was 101.83% full over the revival’s final eight performances. The show played to 6,289 people last week, besting the record total it set the week prior by 58 tickets. That didn’t lead to the production’s highest gross, but it was awfully close—$934,472.69 compared to the production high of $976,807, from the week ending April 26 (directly after the Thomas Kail-directed revival officially opened).

The revival saw the biggest gains of any of Broadway’s 31 currently running shows last week, nearly getting to a six-figure increase compared to the week prior. Also seeing gains were MJ The Musical, which rose by nearly $75,000 to get to $1.8 million, the fourth highest of any show last week; and Cats: The Jellicle Ball, whose shocker of a closing announcement clearly sent audiences running to the Broadhurst box office for another shot at seeing the audience favorite revival. The latter situation led to an increase of $57,163 compared to the week prior, but for a total of $823,971, and thus unlikely to give any last-minute reprieve on that early closure. Fans officially have just three weeks left to catch the reimagined Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, making the production’s grosses one to definitely keep an eye on in the weeks ahead.

The rest of the top five went to the newest usual suspects, led by Hamilton and Death of a Salesman, both in The $2 Million Club (the latter having played one weekly performance less than most shows on Broadway, too). The Lion King and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child also made the top five, even as grosses saw a modest decrease compared to the week prior for both.

Across Broadway, one less production led to a nearly 6% overall drop in grosses, with the 31 plays and musicals bringing in a combined $30,989,768. Tickets averaged at a healthy $121.26, and seats were 87% full, the latter showing room for box office growth as we continue on into this summer season.

Take a look at the full report here.

The $1 Million Club (shows that earned $1 million or more at the box office):

(12 of 31 currently running productions)

The 90s Club (shows that played to 90% or higher of their seats filled over the entire week):

Proof (101.83%)Death of a Salesman (101.25%)
Hamilton (100.68%)Ragtime (100%)MJ The MusicalHadestownJoe Turner’s Come and GoneCats: The Jellicle BallSchmigadoon! The Lion KingThe OutsidersThe Rocky Horror ShowWickedTitaníque

(14 of 31 currently running productions)

Broadway’s revival of Proof played its final week on the boards to the highest attendance of its entire run…

[37
9,24,63,122,124,123
post-302090","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-queens","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-city","tag-nyc","tag-queens","tag-queens-headlines","tag-queens-news
["GET
