The NYPD is searching for a woman suspected of trying to rob another woman at knifepoint.<\/p>\n
According to police, a 53-year-old woman says she was walking in Westchester Square near Castle Hill Avenue and East Tremont when another woman allegedly pulled out a knife demanding the purse of the 53-year-old woman.<\/p>\n
NYPD reports state the incident happened just before 8 p.m. on July 15. Police say the 53-year-old woman refused to give the suspect her purse. They say that’s when the woman holding the knife punched the victim in the face before running off.<\/p>\n
The purse was not stolen.<\/p>\n
DCPI released a picture of the alleged suspect. She has black and blonde hair and is wearing a grey sweatshirt, red shirt, black shorts and carrying a red bag.<\/p>\n
The alleged suspect was said to have run northbound on Castle Hill Avenue.<\/p>\n
