BAYSIDE, Queens (WABC) — Police are searching for two suspects accused of stabbing an off-duty NYPD officer during an early-morning confrontation in Queens.<\/p>\n

The incident happened shortly before 1 a.m. on Bell Boulevard in Bayside, according to police. Investigators say the 30-year-old officer was involved in a verbal dispute with two individuals outside local businesses before the encounter turned violent.<\/p>\n

Authorities said the officer was stabbed in the right hand during the altercation. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and is listed in stable condition.<\/p>\n

Detectives are now working to determine what sparked the dispute and are searching for the two suspects, who remain at large.<\/p>\n
