I thought I had seen every wild mashup New York City had to offer, but then I stumbled into Taco Mahal in the West Village. They are stuffing cream cheese inside naan, firing it up in a tandoor, and turning it into the ultimate fusion taco.

I was skeptical at first, but one bite changed everything.

Hand-Rolled, Cream Cheese Stuffed Perfection

This process is pure art on the counter. They take fresh naan dough, stuff it with a massive ball of seasoned cream cheese, and roll it out flat.

Then come the toppings:

A heavy drizzle of pure ghee right on top.

Loaded up with everything bagel seasoning, cilantro, and Indian spices.

slapped right onto the hot wall of their traditional tandoor oven.

When it comes out, it is blistering, golden, and completely insane. They hit it with another layer of melted ghee because why not?

Look At That Cream Cheese Pull

You can order this everything bagel stuffed naan on its own, or you can turn it into a massive taco.

I went with the taco version, and it was a total game-changer. They scoop loaded chicken tikka masala right into the center of that hot, ghee-drizzled naan. They pile on arugula, fresh cilantro, house mint chutney, diced onions, and shredded red cabbage for a massive crunch.

The cream cheese melts right into the spicy, rich tikka masala sauce, giving every single bite a thick, unbelievable flavor. Look at that cross-section.

If you love Indian food and bagels, this spot is an absolute must-visit.
