The grant is part of a larger financial infusion into humanities projects across the U.S., with a total of $41.4 million distributed amongst 81 projects. Around $3.9 million was distributed amongst 11 projects in New York state.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The grants will support programs in coordination with ongoing national celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. NEH funding for these projects responds to the Jan. 29, 2025, Presidential executive order, \u201cCelebrating America\u2019s Birthday,\u201d and is part of the agency\u2019s larger \u201cA More Perfect Union\u201d initiative.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Old Stone House received the grant for its project, \u201cOld Stone House: Witness to War \u2014 The Battle of Brooklyn.\u201d The funding will be used for the expansion and update of a permanent Battle of Brooklyn exhibition, including the development of accompanying online interactive materials. Kimberly Maier is the project director.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/theoldstonehouse.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/theoldstonehouse.org\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1784847175142000&amp;usg=AOvVaw25EJxvcq-vLjXSCaCDXp15\">Old Stone House\u2019s website<\/a> has announced this year\u2019s Battle of Brooklyn commemoration for Sunday, Aug. 22.
