(WROC) \u2014 The cost of buying a home in New York State is now the highest ever recorded. <\/p>\n<p>According to the New York State Association of Realtors, the median price rose eight percent year-to-year, hitting $475,000 in June of 2026. <\/p>\n<p>Those numbers are obviously skewed by downstate statistics, with counties like Richmond, Rockland and Suffolk in the $700k range.  <\/p>\n<p>Breaking down some of the June median sales numbers in the Finger Lakes Region:<\/p>\n<p>Monroe County \u2013 $305,000 <\/p>\n<p>Ontario County \u2013 $370,000<\/p>\n<p>Livingston County \u2013 $260,000<\/p>\n<p>Orleans County \u2013 $221,500<\/p>\n<p>Genesee County \u2013 $210,000<\/p>\n<p>The number of homes on the market rose for the 16th straight month. <\/p>\n<p>Interest rates edged up slightly from May to June, but at 6.49%, are still below the 6.82% from last year.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ROCHESTER, N.Y.
