This was after the Genting Group, the parent company of Resorts World, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.covers.com\/industry\/resorts-world-submits-7-billion-proposal-in-nyc-casino-bid-oct-15-2025\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">upped its proposal<\/a>, adding a $2 million community fund and $5.5 billion for expanded site development to its bid.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Resorts World officially opened its casino doors to New Yorkers on April 28. With the official closure of Aqueduct Racetrack last month, the property became available for Phase Two of Resorts World expansion project. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">&#8220;The excitement around this project hasn&#8217;t stopped since the day we submitted our bid,\u201d said\u00a0Robert DeSalvio, President, Genting Americas East. \u201cIt carried us through our licensing process and through the first\u00a012 weeks\u00a0of operating New York City&#8217;s first live table games.
