THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) \u2014 Multiple firefighters were sent to the hospital after a car exploded in the Bronx, according to the FDNY.<\/p>\n
Video on Citizen<\/a> showed a ball of flames glowing in the distance and smoke blowing from the area while multiple fire engines were on the scene. An additional video showed a large amount of trash burned next to a charred vehicle after the fire was put out.<\/p>\n More Local News <\/a><\/p>\n According to the FDNY, a call came in for a reported car fire and explosion at 7:06 p.m. on Wednesday at 955 Westchester Ave. between Intervale Avenue and Kelly Street.<\/p>\n Sources say multiple vehicles and trash were set on fire.<\/p>\n Five firefighters were taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
