Museum leaders say the exhibit encourages curiosity by allowing children to touch, explore, and actively participate rather than simply observe.

“I think kids learn so well when they’re able to touch and explore the past,” Saunders said. “This exhibit really gives them the opportunity to make discoveries of their own while having fun.”

The exhibit also highlights the transition from the age of dinosaurs to the rise of mammals, giving families an opportunity to learn about Earth’s changing ecosystems through engaging displays and interactive experiences.

Museum officials hope the exhibit will become a destination for families throughout the Capital Region and beyond, especially as children look for educational activities during the summer months.

“Expedition Dinosaur: Rise of the Mammals” will remain on display at the New York State Museum through January.

For Related Stories: Prehistoric New York State Museum Kids Zone Jennifer Saunders Expedition Dinosaur: Rise of the Mammals Dinosaur Benny Nezaj Albany

ALBANY, N.Y.
