Broadway’s upcoming musical\u00a0Wanted<\/a> has added two to its cast.\u00a0Aurelia Williams<\/a> and Awa Sal Secka<\/a> will play\u00a0Sissy and Flo, respectively, reprising their performances from the musical’s earlier runs at Paper Mill Playhouse<\/a> (for Williams) and Signature Theatre<\/a> (for Secka).<\/p>\n

Previously titled\u00a0Gun &\u00a0Powder,\u00a0Wanted is set to begin previews on Broadway at the James Earl Jones Theatre October 15 ahead of a November 8 opening night.\u00a0Obie winner and Tony nominee Stevie Walker-Webb<\/a> is directing with choreography by Chelsey Arce<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Williams and Secka join a previously announced cast that includes\u00a0Solea Pfeiffer<\/a> (Hadestown, Gatsby: An American Myth) as Mary Clarke, Liisi LaFontaine<\/a> (Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Dreamgirls) as Martha Clarke, Luke James<\/a> as Elijah,\u00a0and R&B legend Ledisi as Tallulah Clarke. Additional casting, by\u00a0Tara Rubin<\/a> and Olivia Paige West<\/a> of The TRC Company<\/a>, is to be announced.<\/p>\n

Telling a true story,\u00a0Wanted focuses on Black twin sisters Mary and Martha Clarke who were able to pass for white and hide in plain sight while on the run. The musical\u00a0features a book and lyrics by Angelica Ch\u00e9ri<\/a> (descendant of the Sisters Clarke), music by Ross Baum<\/a>, and choreography by Chelsey Arce (Sweeney Todd, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child). Additional casting for the production, by Tara Rubin and Olivia Paige West of The TRC Company, will be announced at a later date.<\/p>\n

Under its original title, Gun & Powder, the musical played the Paper Mill Playhouse in spring 2024. The cast included LaFontaine as Martha Clarke, Ciara Ren\u00e9e as Mary Clarke, Jeannette Bayardelle as Tallulah Clarke, Aaron James McKenzie<\/a> as Elijah, and Hunter Parrish as Jesse Whitewater. Tiffany Rea-Fisher was the choreographer.<\/p>\n

A June 2025 workshop<\/a> featured Pfeiffer as Mary Clarke, LaFontaine as Martha Clarke, Will Swenson as Jesse, James as Elijah, Jeannette Bayardelle as Tallulah, Jennie Harney-Fleming as Flo, and Aurelia Williams as Sissy.<\/p>\n
