who has already been convicted with a litany of crimes<\/a> \u2014 sexually assaulted and attempted to rape two women in a five-day period. His crime spree allegedly started just 10 days after he\u2019d been released from prison.<\/p>\nHe was arrested on Wednesday and remains in jail. His bail has been set at $1 million.<\/p>\n
Armed Sexual Assault<\/p>\n
According to the criminal complaint, on July 17, a woman who lives in the same townhome complex as Olson-Baker awoke to find a man wearing a hoodie tightened around his face and glasses brandishing a handgun.<\/p>\n
He asked for $100 and began to search her dresser. Later, he forced a leg tie into her mouth, then sexually assaulted and attempted to rape her.<\/p>\n
After a struggle, he ran from the apartment.<\/p>\n
The victim described her assailant as a 5\u20194 chubby, light-skinned Black man in his 20s.<\/p>\n
Five days later, a woman sleeping on her couch awoke to find a man with a handgun who threatened to kill her and her children if she screamed.<\/p>\n
He sexually assaulted and attempted to rape the woman, eventually leaving the home.<\/p>\n
\u201cVictim 2 described Defendant as a light-skinned Black male wearing khaki pants, a black t-shirt, a balaclava ski mask, approximately 5\u20194, and \u2018chubbier,’\u201d the criminal complaint read.<\/p>\n
Law enforcement officials from the Brooklyn Park Police Department, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Hennepin County Sheriff\u2019s Office, and the U.S. Secret Service formed a task force to investigate the incidents.<\/p>\n
Investigators found that Olson-Baker lived near the first victim, fit the description of the assailant and had a history of committing burglaries in the Brooklyn Park area.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was adjudicated delinquent of first-degree burglary on four separate occasions in 2015-2019,\u201d the criminal complaint read. \u201cSome of these burglaries were similar in modus operandi\u037e for example, Defendant crawled into bed with a juvenile female and touched her feet.\u201d<\/p>\n
The leg tie used in the first assault \u201cyielded a mixture of DNA from which Victim 1 and Defendant\u2019s DNA could not be excluded but from which 99.9% of the world\u2019s population could be excluded.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police arrested Olson-Baker on July 22, the same day he allegedly committed the second assault.\u00a0<\/p>\n
His first court appearance is scheduled for Friday, July 24.<\/p>\n
