{"id":306142,"date":"2026-07-26T22:18:06","date_gmt":"2026-07-26T22:18:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/306142\/"},"modified":"2026-07-26T22:18:06","modified_gmt":"2026-07-26T22:18:06","slug":"news-12-westchester-beloved-yonkers-market-reopens-with-community-appreciation-after-burglary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/306142\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Westchester | Beloved Yonkers Market Reopens With Community Appreciation After Burglary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">A beloved family-owned market in Yonkers celebrated a fresh start Sunday after a burglary earlier this month threatened its future.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">La Hacienda, located at 1727 Central Park Ave., held a grand reopening by welcoming customers with free refreshments and treats as a way to thank the community that rallied behind the business during one of its most difficult moments.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Owners Richard Magana and Tanyi Arriaga said <a data-rich-text-hyperlink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/news12.com\/police-investigate-burglary-at-yonkers-family-owned-business\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the burglary<\/a> left them uncertain about whether they could continue operating.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">\u201cWe had certain money there that was supposed to cover certain bills, and all of a sudden it&#8217;s gone. So we were uncertain if we were going to be able to continue,\u201d Magana said.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Despite the setback, Magana and Arriaga said the outpouring of support from customers and neighbors helped them move forward.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">\u201cThe community has been [a] tremendous support for us,\u201d Arriaga said. \u201cThey&#8217;ve rallied with us.
