The swearing-in ceremony will be held on Monday morning. Raymond was appointed to the position back in May.<\/p>\n

BROOKLYN, New York (WABC) — Mayor Zohran Mamdani is set to speak at the swearing-in ceremony for New York City Sheriff Edwin Raymond.<\/p>\n

Mamdani appointed Raymond back in May.<\/p>\n

He is overseeing the legal processes and upholding court orders.<\/p>\n

Before becoming sheriff, Raymond was an NYPD officer who rose through the ranks to become a commanding officer in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

He also served in the state attorney general’s office.<\/p>\n
