Fours others \u2013 a 2-year-old boy, a man, 23, two women, 39 and 40 \u2014 were hospitalized and are said to be stable, according to officials. <\/p>\n
The injured toddler appeared to be conscious but wasn\u2019t crying while being treated by paramedics, according to witness Michael Girardi.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThe mother [was] in anguish,\u201d he told the Seattle Times.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Cops suspect two people were shooting at each other. One suspect was taken into custody, Mayor Katie Wilson announced about three hours after the gunfire broke out.\u00a0<\/p>\n
That man has since been taken to the Seattle Police Headquarters for questioning. <\/p>\n
Photos have since emerged showed a heavyset, scruffy-haired person being led away in handcuffs by Seattle cops with guns drawn. <\/p>\n
The other suspect is currently at large, Tyrone Davis, the Seattle police assistant chief, told reporters at a late-night news conference.<\/p>\n
Witnesses spoke of the chaos that unfolded as gunshots rang out.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was just pure chaos,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople were hiding, were pushing, people were falling on the ground, baby strollers were falling,\u201d he told the Associated Press.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police urged residents to avoid the area surrounding the Seattle Center, located near the Space Needle, while investigation efforts remain ongoing. KOMO News<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce I heard a \u2018pop, pop, pop,\u2019 that\u2019s when I knew it was a shooter.<\/p>\n
After returning to the scene to try to take photos, he said he saw several gunshot victims on the ground and a body covered with a yellow sheet.<\/p>\n
Roberto Ramirez, a vendor at the event, said he heard what sounded like firecrackers before people began yelling \u201cshooter\u201d and frantically running.<\/p>\n
\u201cSuddenly everything was empty,\u201d he said. \u201cPeople were freaked out.\u201d<\/p>\n

A live YouTube video filmed by a food vendor at the event, Hawaiian Honey Cones, captured the moment loud pops of bullets rang out.<\/p>\n
\u201cShooting, shooting!\u201d someone yelled as one blast sounded off, causing vendor Christopher Monterroso to hurriedly turn his head toward the feeling crowd while still holding a honey cone.<\/p>\n
\u201cShooting, oh sh-t. Oh sh-t right here,\u201d Monterroso said as he screamed at staff to get down.<\/p>\n
Several people were seen leaping from behind a barricade and grabbing onto their loved ones\u2019 hands as they sprinted away from the sound of gunfire.<\/p>\n
Dominique Campbell, who drove up from LA for the festival to sell his clothing brand \u201cSoup,\u201d said he and his sister ducked for cover.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the people who got hit made it to my booth,\u201d he told the Times.<\/p>\n
\u201cI grabbed a T-shirt and wrapped her leg and just put pressure on it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Campbell said the woman didn\u2019t know she had been shot.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cShe kept asking what happened,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Chase Hutchinson was near the SIFF Film Center \u2013 around 0.2 miles away \u2013\u00a0 when shots rang out.<\/p>\n
\u201cImmediately I knew what it was,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI took a second for people to start running. There was this kind of surreal moment of \u2018what happened?\u2019 It all happened really, really fast.\u201d<\/p>\n
Patrons in the Pacific Science Center\u2019s IMAX theater were evacuated.<\/p>\n
\u201cCome out with your hands up,\u201d a cop told guests, according to Sean Swanson who was inside the room.<\/p>\n
Swanson, from west Seattle, initially thought the instruction was for a suspect before realizing it was for those in the theater.<\/p>\n
An appeal has been put out for witnesses but Davis said, \u201cThey\u2019re not coming forward.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need your help,\u201d the cop begged.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can\u2019t solve this without help from our community.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Girmay Zahilay, the King County Executive, said he was \u201chorrified\u201d by Sunday\u2019s scenes.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor years the Bite has been one of Seattle\u2019s signature summer traditions,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cTo see violence at a place that brings so many people together is heartbreaking and unacceptable.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy heart is with the victims and their loved ones, those who were senselessly injured.\u201d<\/p>\n
Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson said his \u201cprayers are with the families of the victims, and the responders as they work to keep people safe.\u201d<\/p>\n
