Brooklyn announced Monday its four-game schedule runs from Oct. 6-14, beginning in Charlotte and ending with road games against Washington and a revamped Miami roster. Philadelphia visits Barclays Center on Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m., giving Nets fans their lone chance to see the team at home before the regular season.<\/p>\n
James\u2019 availability isn\u2019t guaranteed, especially during the preseason, and Philadelphia may manage the 41-year-old cautiously. Even so, his possible appearance gives Brooklyn\u2019s only home exhibition immediate appeal. The night could introduce the Nets\u2019 latest roster to Barclays Center while offering an early glimpse of James\u2019 Philadelphia tenure.<\/p>\n
The Nets open Oct. 6 against the Hornets at Spectrum Center at 7 p.m., then return to Brooklyn two nights later. They\u2019ll have four days off following the 76ers game before visiting Washington on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. and Miami on Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
Three of the four exhibitions are on the road, and each opponent comes from the Eastern Conference. Brooklyn won\u2019t play on consecutive nights. The four-day pause after Philadelphia also gives head coach Jordi Fern\u00e1ndez and his staff their longest opportunity to review the first two games and adjust before the final trip.<\/p>\n
It\u2019ll mark the second consecutive year in which the Nets play only one home preseason game. Last year\u2019s schedule sent Brooklyn to Macao for two exhibitions against Phoenix. This year, they won\u2019t leave the country or face a neutral-site game or non-NBA opponent.<\/p>\n
The Washington stop brings another notable storyline. The Oct. 12 game could produce the first NBA matchup between AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 pick in June, and Nets guard Mikel Brown Jr., selected at No. 6. Their first meeting would place two of the draft\u2019s top prospects on the same floor less than four months after their names were called six picks apart. Dybantsa begins his career as the class\u2019 headliner, while Brown enters his first season as one of Brooklyn\u2019s most important young players.<\/p>\n
Two nights later, the Nets close against a new-look Miami team featuring Giannis Antetokounmpo alongside Bam Adebayo. Their preseason participation can\u2019t be assumed, but their presence gives Brooklyn\u2019s finale another prominent attraction before the regular season begins.<\/p>\n
The four dates give Brooklyn\u2019s preseason unusual star power. James could headline the lone night at Barclays Center, two of the draft\u2019s top rookies may meet in Washington, and Miami\u2019s rebuilt frontcourt awaits in the finale.<\/p>\n
Before it counts, Fern\u00e1ndez and his staff will have nine days to see what training camp has produced.<\/p>\n
Individual tickets for the Philadelphia game go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Season-ticket memberships are already available, while regular-season single-game tickets and group packages go on sale later.<\/p>\n
YES Network will carry the preseason as it begins its 25th season as the television home of Nets basketball.<\/p>\n
