Comedian John Mulaney will begin the new year by performing nine consecutive shows<\/a> in nine New York City venues.<\/p>\n

The 43-year-old funnyman<\/a> told NBC\u2019s \u201cToday\u201d show that the \u201cspecial run\u201d will end with a Jan. 15 finale at Madison Square Garden. But he\u2019ll play several smaller venues along the way.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead of doing one show in New York City, or even three shows in New York City, for my tour, I\u2019m going to do a very special run,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMulaney Takes Manhattan\u201d begins at Greenwich Village\u2019s Comedy Cellar on Jan. 7.<\/p>\n

He\u2019ll stay in the Village to perform at Blue Note on the following night before making his way slightly uptown to Joe\u2019s Pub, then Bowery Ballroom.<\/p>\n

On Jan. 11, Mulaney visits the Music Box Theater on Broadway, followed by the Beacon Theatre, then Carnegie Hall. His penultimate gig will be a Jan. 14 performance at Radio City Music Hall, where he filmed his 2008 Netflix special \u201cKid Gorgeous at Radio City<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wrapping things up at \u201cThe World\u2019s Most Famous Arena\u201d on Jan. 15 is unlikely to rattle the Chicago native. He made history<\/a> on July 11 by being the first comedian to sell out Wrigley Field<\/a>, which opened in 1914<\/a> and finally got lights<\/a> shortly before Mulaney turned 6 years old.<\/p>\n

Mulaney compared performing in that 41,649 capacity ballpark to being put in charge of a spaceship.<\/p>\n
