A British runner who came to New York to participate in Sunday\u2019s marathon, but disappeared before the big race began<\/a>, has been found safe in the Bronx, police said Thursday.<\/p>\n

Cops located Jordan Butler in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx on Wednesday. He was taken to Lincoln Hospital for evaluation, police said.<\/p>\n

Butler, 40, was last seen leaving the Westin New York Times Square hotel about 4:45 a.m. Sunday, officials said. The marathon kicked off at 8 a.m. that day on Staten Island.<\/p>\n

It was not immediately clear how Butler ended up in the Bronx or what he was doing during the three days after his disappearance.<\/p>\n

Butler, who lives in North Willenhall, England, was in the U.S. to participate in the New York City Marathon, officials said. Nearly 60,000 people completed the race<\/a> on Sunday, marking the second consecutive year New York broke the world record for the largest marathon ever.<\/p>\n

In an unrelated incident during Sunday\u2019s race, Queens cops located Giacomo \u201cJack\u201d Campione, a 52-year-old man with cognitive disabilities who had been missing for two days.<\/p>\n

Campione was\u00a0 was dressed in a Halloween costume when he disappeared Friday morning after he got separated from his housemates in Flushing, Queens, after stepping off a Q13 bus.<\/p>\n

The Long Island resident spent the next two nights sleeping on the sidewalk in Queens before he suffered a fall and was taken to an area hospital as marathoners made their way through the borough, officials said.<\/p>\n
