Instead, the insurance broker wears extremely casual basketball shorts and a T-shirt.<\/p>\n
Welcome to the reign of the Schlub Hubs, a group of men \u2014 celebrities and everyday dudes alike \u2014 who choose comfort over clean-cut, even as their partners dress like they’re extras in “The Devil Wears Prada.”<\/p>\n
Inspired by saggy-pant celebs like Adam Sandler and Justin Bieber and encouraged by the new reign of anything-goes athleisure at offices and restaurants, these slacker brethren wear giant sweats as a second skin.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The twist? Their dressy wives absolutely love it.<\/p>\n
“I’d never try to change Dave’s style because that’s who he is,” said Vazzana, a 33-year-old maximalist monarch, who has become famous on social media for her love of extreme, out-there fashion<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Saggy, baggy celebs like Justin Bieber \u2014 who almost seem to revel in the contrast between their fits and the couture their wives typically choose \u2014 appear to be inspiring a new generation of young men to dress down. GC Images<\/p>\n Lopes told The Post that his style “just naturally kind of blends into the background,” comparing his look to a “’90s sitcom dad” like Tim Allen on Home Improvement. Think: a worn-out college crew neck, khaki shorts from Old Navy and beat-up Nike trainers.\u00a0<\/p>\n “I’m not the person that’s at the forefront or center stage\u2026 I’m the background. She’s the star,” he explained.<\/p>\n A recent TikTok video by the couple called “opposites attract” has been viewed over 2.5 million times.<\/p>\n Lopes likes blending into the background, he said \u2014 letting his wife be the star.<\/p>\n Long Island City tech exec Kevin Chen, 33, is also a proud schlubby hubby \u2014 and that’s okay with his significant other, fashion influencer Emily Xiong.<\/p>\n While the 29-year-old goes gaga for luxe Dior bags and polished Aritzia dresses,\u00a0she told The Post that her husband’s style, which consists of a tank top, basketball shorts and slides, “is totally different from mine.”<\/p>\n Despite often flitting through Soho in silk gowns, Xiong said the only time Chen has ever worn a tuxedo was to their 2025 wedding \u2014 and only because she demanded it.\u00a0<\/p>\n Adam Sandler is often referenced as the king of the Schlub Hubs \u2014 while wife Jackie shows up dressed to impress, Adam typically seems better prepared for a Sunday on the couch at home. That’s about the most shopping I’ve done in the past 10 years.”\u00a0<\/p>\n But Xiong said she adores her husband’s lack of fashion know-how.\u00a0<\/p>\n “I do prefer a partner who’s not too focused on looks and styles,” she confessed. “When I was dating, I found guys who were really focused on fashion and looking good to be a little high maintenance.”<\/p>\n It’s a dream setup for her man, who said, “I’m just happy to have a hot wife that I’m worthy enough to take pictures of.”\u00a0<\/p>\n Famous dudes are embracing their Schlub Hub era, too.<\/p>\n During the World Cup halftime show, Justin Bieber poured his heart into his performance \u2014 but apparently not his look, a giant polka-dot hoodie and jeans that were three sizes too big.\u00a0<\/p>\n All the while, his wife Hailey Bieber sizzled in a vintage red Christian Dior dress yanked straight from a Vogue cover.<\/p>\n It was just the latest example of the couple’s “swag gap,” where Mrs. Bieber \u2014 the founder of the billion-dollar beauty brand Rhode and a current face of both Gap and Miu Miu \u2014 shows up dressed like the most famous fashion model in the world\u2026 which she is. Her husband? Hoodie. Huge pants. Repeat.<\/p>\n Jay-Z, a fashion plate in his own right, wore a laid-back look during a duet with his powerhouse wife Beyonc\u00e9 at his Yankee Stadium show in July.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Brooklynite invited Queen Bey to take center stage, where she stole the spotlight<\/a> in a custom Giuseppe Di Morabito capri-cut suit and piles of diamonds.\u00a0 Mr. Carter wore baggy black pants and a baseball jacket.<\/p>\n The Grand Poobah of Schlub Hubs, of course, is Adam Sandler, whose ultra-casual style has been called both “Big Daddy dapper” and “Meth-maker chic<\/a>.”\u00a0<\/p>\n Be it hooping with strangers<\/a> in a pick-up basketball game, hitting the red carpet<\/a> alongside his voguish bride, Jackie, or rolling up to Madison Square Garden<\/a> to officiate Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s nuptials, the leading man is loyal to his lax look, even as style pundits and social media users wonder if he’s “embarrassing” his wife<\/a> on the red carpet.\u00a0<\/p>\n Even when taking center stage at last week’s World Cup finale halftime show, Bieber opted for an odd, raggy look. I love to dress in loud colors, feathers, polka dots, sequins, wild accessories,” raved Camposarcone, 30, who met Bruno, 25, a graphic designer, while swiping on Hinge last year.<\/p>\n “His style does not match my aesthetic at all. He’s very chill.
