Cindy Blackman Santana Group headlined an all-female jazz lineup at Prospect Park on Friday, alongside Mexican vibraphonist and composer Patricia Brennan and vocalist Luc\u00eda.<\/p>\n

Concert goers at Friday\u2019s BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! festival<\/a> enjoyed a\u00a0female-led jazz show, drawing audiences of all ages to Prospect Park for an evening of live music.<\/p>\n

The Cindy Blackman Santana Group<\/a> headlined the evening, supported by vibraphonist and composer Patricia Brennan<\/a> and vocalist Luc\u00eda<\/a>. Blackman-Santana is a renowned drummer whose career includes leading her own bands and playing with artists like Lenny Kravitz and the band Santana.<\/p>\n

Now in its 47th season, BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! is hailed as New York\u2019s longest-running free outdoor arts festival. This year\u2019s festival is centered around the theme \u201cRadical Joy<\/a>,\u201d highlighting inclusivity and uplifting the communities that make up the city.<\/p>\n

The 2026 season has one of the most women-forward lineups in the event\u2019s history, showcasing artists across a range of genres, according to BRIC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The concert took place at the Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park, where attendees gathered in seating area and across the surrounding lawn with blankets and folding chairs. Some audience members stood to dance while others enjoyed the performance from their seats.<\/p>\n

The BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! series will continue throughout the summer with additional performances listed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
