MANHATTAN (KSNT<\/a>) \u2013 The CiCo Ballfields in Manhattan will be renamed following a 10-year naming rights agreement approved by city commissioners.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Nov. 4, Parks Director of Parks and Recreation Aaron Stewart talked to city commissioners about a naming rights resolution that was passed last December<\/a>. According to Stewart, the Manhattan Parks and Recreation Foundation has formed a 10-year $500,000 partnership for the naming rights of the CiCo Ballfields.<\/p>\n

As part of the agreement, the ballfields will be renamed the Steel and Pipe Supply Ballpark after a business that operates in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. A representative from Steel and Pipe Supply presented a $500,000 check to Manhattan Mayor Karen McCulloh.<\/p>\n

Stewart said the agreement would help provide for the park\u2019s long-term maintenance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is so exciting,\u201d said City Commissioner Jayme Minton. \u201cSo big thanks to Steel and Pipe Supply and Matt back there.\u201d<\/p>\n
