Walcott and New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC) Commissioner Paul Ochoa today joined QPL and DDC staff, local elected officials, and community members at a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Douglaston-Little Neck Library at the site of the existing branch at 249-01 Northern Boulevard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s groundbreaking marks a significant milestone for the Douglaston-Little Neck community,\u201d said Queens Public Library President and CEO Dennis M. Walcott. \u201cThoughtfully designed to meet residents\u2019 evolving needs, the new library will double the amount of public space, with expanded indoor and outdoor areas for learning and gathering, state-of-the-art amenities, and sustainable features that reflect our commitment to environmental stewardship. Thanks to the great work of the Department of Design and Construction, this beautiful building will become a striking new addition to the neighborhood. We are deeply grateful to our current and former elected officials for the capital investment that is making this transformation possible.
