Despite the swaths of support for Cuomo, Mamdani  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2025\/11\/04\/us\/elections\/results-new-york-city-mayor.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">won the borough<\/a> overall with 57% of the vote to become the city\u2019s first Muslim and South Asian mayor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Borough Park, home to one of the largest Orthodox Jewish communities outside Israel, overwhelmingly  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boropark24.com\/news\/boro-park-backs-cuomo-89-of-voters-show-overwhelming-support\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">backed Cuomo<\/a>, with 89.1% of ballots cast in his favor compared to 5.8% for Zohran Mamdani and 3.1% for Curtis Sliwa, according to BoroPark24. The Times reported 86% of Borough Park residents voted for Cuomo.)
