Eleven-year-old Miracle Child Lilli spent the day serving customers with a smile.<\/p>\n
She knows firsthand what Children’s Miracle Network means. Now, she’s on the other side of the counter, helping make blizzards for people who are donating money to children like her.<\/p>\n
“It feels nice because even though they don’t know me, they think that it’s a good idea to help,” Lilli said.<\/p>\n
For Lilli, every Blizzard handed across the counter is a reminder that kindness doesn’t have to be complicated.<\/p>\n
Sometimes, it looks like a family stopping by after dinner.<\/p>\n
Sometimes, it’s a stranger deciding to spend a few dollars to help someone they’ve never met.<\/p>\n
And sometimes, it’s simply choosing to care.<\/p>\n
Right down the road, Maddie Fernandez was asking customers to purchase Miracle Balloons.<\/p>\n
To many, they’re colorful paper decorations. To her, they’re something much bigger.<\/p>\n
“I was a child in the network, and every dollar saves a child’s life” Fernandez said.<\/p>\n
Fernandez said doctors once told her she would never walk again after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.<\/p>\n
Now, she’s walking, working, and sharing her story with anyone willing to listen.<\/p>\n
She’s personally sold nearly 680 Miracle Balloons, hoping every dollar helps another child write a different ending.<\/p>\n
“Don’t give up. Every day is a miracle. Just take it one day at a time,” she said.<\/p>\n
It’s easy to see a Blizzard as just another summer tradition.<\/p>\n
