{"id":311196,"date":"2026-07-31T22:43:35","date_gmt":"2026-07-31T22:43:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/311196\/"},"modified":"2026-07-31T22:43:35","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T22:43:35","slug":"news-12-brooklyn-window-washers-dressed-as-superheroes-surprise-pediatric-patients-at-maimonides-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/311196\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Brooklyn | Window Washers Dressed As Superheroes Surprise Pediatric Patients At Maimonides Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Some young patients at Maimonides Hospital got a surprise visit from some unlikely heroes.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Window washers traded their usual gear for superhero costumes, rappelling down the side of the hospital building to bring smiles to children receiving care in the pediatric units.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Hospital staff worked with the environmental services team to turn a routine window washing into a special moment for patients and their families.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">After their superhero entrance, the team joined patients inside the hospital, posing for photos and shaking hands.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">\u201cBeing in the hospital is hard,\u201d said Alexis Ellis, director of Maimonides Hospital\u2019s Patient Family Support team. \u201cThis really changes the mood of the day. You get a little more excitement and a little less of the sadness of being here for a long period of time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Families said the visit brought some much-needed joy during a difficult time.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">And based on the smiles inside the hospital, these superheroes completed their mission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Some young patients at Maimonides Hospital got a surprise visit from some unlikely heroes.
