When officers from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/site\/nypd\/bureaus\/patrol\/precincts\/48th-precinct.page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">48th Precinct<\/a> arrived on the scene, they found a 36-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his armpit.<\/p>\n<p>EMS rushed him to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.\n<\/p>\n<p>Cops say the gunman, who stood about 5 feet, 9 inches, and wore all black, fled in an unknown direction. Police stated that they do not currently have a motive for the shooting.\n<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/assets\/nypd\/downloads\/pdf\/crime_statistics\/cs-en-us-048pct.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">NYPD data,<\/a> so far this year, shootings in the precinct are up by 6.2% while the number of shooting victims is up by 11.1%.<\/p>\n<p>No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.\n<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information regarding this incident can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA).
