New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani<\/a> is spreading \u201cblasphemy,\u201d as well as antisemitism, President Isaac Herzog told Fox News in an interview published on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cMamdani does not respect my nation\u2019s right for self-determination,\u201d Herzog accused the mayor. \u201cHe\u2019s basically spreading blasphemy, hate, antisemitic rhetoric. He should understand that he\u2019s risking his own citizens. He\u2019s risking their safety, well-being, and life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Herzog referenced a recent stabbing which occurred in New York against two men, one of whom was Jewish, blaming Mamdani\u2019s rhetoric for the violence.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think New York will continue way after Mamdani, and I hope he won\u2019t create any irreversible damage, and I hope the citizens of New York will be as safe as was promised to them,\u201d Herzog stated.<\/p>\n

He also condemned former International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Karim Khan, accusing him of having attempted to use the arrest warrants issued against various Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as a distraction from the sexual harassment allegations against him.<\/p>\n

Khan<\/a>, Herzog claimed, had been ready to visit Israel and meet with Israeli officials, including Herzog himself, when the trip was suddenly called off amid his announcement of the arrest warrants.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat case has to be dropped, and the ICC should revert it completely, and not fall into the trap of hate and lies that Karim Khan presented simply to cover for himself,\u201d Herzog demanded.<\/p>\n

US, Israel bonded by spiritual values, Herzog claims<\/p>\n

Herzog also said there was something \u201cbiblical and prophetic\u201d in how the United States and Israel worked together, citing US President Donald Trump\u2019s support for Israel, and called for bipartisan \u201cfriendship and support\u201d between the two countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe both drink from the fountain of the Bible,\u201d he said. \u201cWe both drink from this set of values which was commanded to all of us by these historic, spiritual books given to us by the Almighty.\u201d<\/p>\n

He blamed much of the current tension <\/a>between Israel and the younger generation of Americans on social media, saying that it was \u201cvery easy to smear Israel on TikTok, but that doesn\u2019t say the real truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Israel, Herzog defended, was a democracy with a wide variety of opinions within its political parties, \u201cfrom Palestinian-oriented parties, to extreme right-wing, even fascist, on the verge of fascism parties,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Iran a threat to stability due to ideology, Herzog says<\/p>\n

The president also discussed the war with Iran<\/a>, saying that the Iranian regime was a threat to stability across the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cThink about it, they take their people\u2019s food and money and spend it on terror all over the world. It\u2019s a given fact,\u201d he said. \u201cYou ask yourself, why?\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Herzog, the reason for Iran\u2019s relentless pursuit of global terror activity is ideology.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ideology does not accommodate any other religion or moderate Islam, for that matter. That is why it is so dangerous,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou see it in their missile program, you see it in Hormuz, you see it in the nuclear desire, you see it in the butchering of tens of thousands of its citizens… Look how much suffering.
