Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno finally delivered a fierce public rebuke of embattled Rep. Max Miller, who has been accused of abusing Moreno\u2019s daughter Emily<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The senator declared that Miller shouldn\u2019t be allowed to serve in the House, and needs professional help.<\/p>\n

Miller, however, was defiant, denying that he abused his ex-wife Emily Moreno and saying he would not step down ahead of November\u2019s election.<\/p>\n

As a father and husband, I can tell you the last two years have been pure hell for my wife Bridget, our daughter Emily, me, and our entire family in the aftermath of Emily’s divorce.<\/p>\n

It has been horrific to watch this play out in full public view, all while knowing an innocent\u2026<\/p>\n

Moreno revealed that he is afraid for his 2-year-old granddaughter when Miller (R-Ohio) has custody of her, and stressed that he had long avoided commenting on the matter<\/a> because he hoped to keep it private.<\/p>\n

\u201cOut of concern for the safety of my family, I hoped to keep this matter private, but Max Miller\u2019s increasingly erratic and dangerous behavior has made that impossible,\u201d Moreno (R-Ohio) posted on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs he has admitted privately, Max Miller needs serious psychological help,\u201d the senator went on. \u201cHe is a danger to my daughter, and I hold my breath every minute he has custody of my granddaughter. If there are any basic standards of character required to hold elected office, Max Miller fails them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moreno\u2019s denunciation of Miller came after the congressman did a livestream on Sunday denying the abuse accusations against him from Emily and alleging that she suffers from bipolar disorder, something she has disputed.<\/p>\n

Just last week, Moreno had been asked by NOTUS whether Miller should vie for reelection and replied that he \u201cdoesn\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miller represents Ohio\u2019s 7th Congressional District, which includes parts of the Cleveland suburbs \u2014 a district President Trump won by 11 points in 2024. A Dem-sponsored poll in June showed Miller up just one point in the general election against Democrat Brian Poindexter.<\/p>\n

Miller had previously been accused of abuse by former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham and was arrested for drunk driving when he was in college.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe should not serve in the House of Representatives,\u201d Moreno stressed. \u201cI believe Max Miller needs to seek professional help to end the clear pattern of abuse he has left in his wake. I believe he should not be free to continue endangering others until he does.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moreno said his former son-in-law is not fit to continue serving in the House of Representatives. X \/ @MsEmilyMoreno<\/p>\n

Emily and Miller\u00a0had\u00a0married in\u00a02022 at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey. Miller filed for\u00a0a\u00a0divorce from her in August 2024, on their second wedding anniversary.<\/p>\n

She\u00a0has\u00a0alleged that Miller physically abused her, shoved her, dumped scalding hot water on her that left burn marks, put a gun to her head, and raised concerns that he may have also abused her daughter.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is shameful that Max Miller decided to go on a bizarre and lie-filled rant about his ex-wife to desperately try to save his political career,\u201d Emily\u2019s spokesperson Stefan Mychajiw told The Post in a statement. \u201cThere is a documented trove of evidence that Miller has a history of violent and dangerous behavior and no amount of victim shaming will change that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is despicable and abhorrent that Miller lied on an unhinged and humiliating video for their daughter to watch one day,\u201d\u00a0Mychajiw added. \u201cNo loving parent would have ever used their daughter as a PR pawn to save their own political career. Miller can lie and spin on X, but he cannot do so under oath in a court of law. We are confident that justice will prevail in court.\u201d<\/p>\n

Emily has not spoken publicly about those accusations, but they appeared in police reports and her court testimony. Additionally, audio\u00a0cited by Miller showed him acknowledging that he hurt her with the hot water, though he tried to deny intending to do so. That audio was recorded without Emily\u2019s knowledge.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou poured steaming hot water on me, and you\u2019ve also been \u2026 emotionally abusive, and I have photos of me that my mom took at my house with me with scars on my neck, and you\u2019ve actually seen those photos,\u201d she said, in secret audio from August 2024 in which she claimed he poured hot water from the faucet on her during the incident weeks prior.<\/p>\n

Court documents show images of Emily with red spots all over her body and a\u00a0blue-inked handwritten note<\/a>\u00a0from Miller apologizing to her, saying \u201cI\u2019m sorry I failed you and [our daughter]\u201d and that \u201cI\u2019m just a f\u2014 up and worthless.\u201d Miller has denied that the letter was related to the hot water incident.<\/p>\n

There are also questions about whether Miller was responsible for their 2-year-old daughter\u2019s broken collarbone, something he adamantly denies.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In February, Emily took her to the doctor to get an X-ray, and she was\u00a0diagnosed\u00a0with a\u00a0broken collarbone and \u201cwhat appeared to be a handprint bruise\u201d on her shoulder,\u00a0according to a police report<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been portrayed as an abusive husband, an abusive father, and a violent man,\u201d Miller said in a livestream on X before Moreno broke his silence. \u201cLet me begin with the most painful accusation of all \u2014 I have never abused our daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miller ticked through the accusations in detail and pointed to evidence that he\u00a0previously shared with The Post<\/a>. He also doubled down on trying to accuse Emily of suffering from a mental illness.<\/p>\n

The congressman has sued Emily for defamation and mounted an attack dog legal strategy against her. Last month, a judge formally dismissed his domestic violence case against her.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

In June, a judge\u00a0imposed a restraining order<\/a>\u00a0on both Miller and Emily, restraining\u00a0them from \u201cdisparaging the other in front of the minor child and using social media\/electronic devices or third parties to threaten, harass, or annoy the other.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is unclear if Miller\u2019s livestream on Sunday complies with that order.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Miller and Moreno divorced in 2024 after two years of marriage.<\/p>\n

Emily\u2019s lawyer has also sought a restraining order against him for allegedly trying to goad him into a fight\u00a0and\u00a0harassment.<\/p>\n

Moreno had taken heat for not speaking up publicly sooner, with lefty critics highlighting his silence on the matter after he\u00a0dropped F-bombs against Dr. Anthony Fauci <\/a>during an explosive Senate committee hearing last week.<\/p>\n

In response to Moreno\u2019s condemnation of him, Miller argued that the senator knows \u201cthis isn\u2019t true and the only reason you are speaking out now is to hide from your own media circus. This is all political.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf my daughter said the same thing to me, I personally wouldn\u2019t wait two years before holding him accountable,\u201d he\u00a0posted on X.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n
