Rosie O\u2019Donnell is experiencing a career revival<\/a> after decamping to Ireland in January 2025.<\/p>\n

The 64-year-old comic recently returned to New York City following a transatlantic move she attributed to President Trump\u2019s return to power. O\u2019Donnell told podcast host Kara Swisher that being back in the U.S. has been like going back in time to when she was at her most famous<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to the Long Island native, fans on the street have been stopping her to express their appreciation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is this, 30 years ago?\u201d O\u2019Donnell said. \u201cI feel re-famous.\u201d<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell announced in March 2025 she and her 12-year-old child have been residing in Ireland<\/a> since Trump began his second presidency in January of that year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe personal is political, as we all know,\u201d she told fans on TikTok at the time.<\/p>\n

She and President Trump have been involved in a longstanding feud<\/a> dating back 20 years to her time on ABC\u2019s \u201cThe VIew.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0 O\u2019Donnell has continued targeting Trump during his time in politics. He\u2019s responded in kind, which included a threat<\/a> to revoke her U.S. citizenship last year.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell believes her willingness to continually engage the President is appealing to her fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think people really want nostalgia,\u201d she said on Monday\u2019s \u201cOn With Kara Swisher.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey want people with their voices and power, to stand up to what\u2019s happening with in their county and they really respect you\u2026 for doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell speaks about her quarrel with Trump in the one-woman show \u201cCommon Knowledge,\u201d which she\u2019s performing through Saturday<\/a> at Broadway\u2019s Daryl Roth Theater.<\/p>\n

Broadway is one of the things O\u2019Donnell missed most while being in Ireland. She said she\u2019s also happy to be eating at Joe Allen<\/a> and Nobu again.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell is expected to soon head to Los Angeles where Jimmy Kimmel invited her<\/a> to host his ABC talk show while he\u2019s away this month. Representatives from the show haven\u2019t returned a request to confirm the dates when she\u2019ll appear.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell admitted on Sophia Bush\u2019s podcast last month that she\u2019d like to return<\/a> to the U.S permanently at some point.<\/p>\n
