{"id":313234,"date":"2026-08-04T08:18:24","date_gmt":"2026-08-04T08:18:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/313234\/"},"modified":"2026-08-04T08:18:24","modified_gmt":"2026-08-04T08:18:24","slug":"naked-man-who-jumped-off-brooklyn-bridge-survives-is-charged","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/313234\/","title":{"rendered":"Naked man who jumped off Brooklyn Bridge survives, is charged"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DUMBO \u2013 A MAN WHO jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge\u2019s north tower on Sunday afternoon has been charged with reckless endangerment and other offenses, after being fished from the water by the New York Police Department\u2019s Harbor Unit, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amny.com\/new-york\/brooklyn\/man-jumped-brooklyn-bridge-criminal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">reports amNY<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Galymzhan Abaildayev, 44, of Brooklyn, was spotted climbing to the north tower at around 2:30 p.m. The bridge was then closed to pedestrian traffic, but before officers were able to make contact with Abaildayev, police said, he removed his clothes and leapt from the tower into the water below.
