Applications for the program are open until Sept. 8. Whether it’s free summer meals in your community or Summer EBT grocery Benefits, help is available.”

Food insecurity often increases during the summer when children don’t have access to school-provided meals and families feel the strain on their budgets due to rising grocery costs.

A recent No Kid Hungry New York poll shows three-quarters of New York families had to choose between buying groceries and paying for other essentials.

Call 211 for more information.

Copyright 2026 WCAX.
