Police said they have made an arrest in their investigation into the fatal shooting of a 50-year-old man who died seemingly in a hail of gunfire in or in the vicinity of the Little Yemen \/ Bronx Park East section of The Bronx on Monday, Aug. 3. His body and moped, which may have crashed, were seen covered in a tarp in a nearby area where police had cordoned off the scene.<\/p>\n

According to police, the shooting was reported at 6:02 a.m. on Aug. 3 outside 672 Sagamore Street. However, the victim\u2019s body was later seen outside Ramos Twin Auto Sales, located at 665 Sagamore Street at the corner of Birchall Avenue, where the scene was cordoned off.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n A police spokesperson said, \u201cPolice responded to a 911 call of a male shot.\u201d The spokesperson continued, \u201cUpon arrival, officers observed a 50-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds about the body. EMS responded and pronounced the victim deceased on scene.\u201d Police added that there were no immediate arrests and the investigation remained \u201congoing.\u201d<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Detectives and police officers had the intersection blocked off by police vehicles and crime scene tape on Monday. Because of a severe thunderstorm at the time, police had apparently covered the victim and his moped with a large purple tarp, likely to preserve any evidence. The victim appeared to be slumped over the moped, with one of his legs visible to the right of the tarp.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The deceased was later identified as Trojan Hart from the Morrisania section of The Bronx.<\/p>\n On Tuesday, Aug. 4, police said that pursuant to an ongoing investigation, Jose Kuilan, 47, of Manhattan was arrested on Aug. 3 at 11.30 p.m. in confines of the 49th Precinct, where the shooting took place.<\/p>\n They said he was charged with murder, manslaughter, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon,\u00a0 two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, and failure to use signal lights.
