MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – Four teens have been arrested in connection with a school burglary that was reported this past weekend in Manhattan, officials announced Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n
The incident was reported around 12:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, at Oliver Brown Elementary School, located in the 4000 block of Jackies Way on the northeast side of Manhattan. The school is located in a part of Manhattan that is in Pottawatomie County.<\/p>\n
Officials with the Pottawatomie County Sheriff\u2019s Office were notified early Sunday afternoon of a report of a past break-in at the school.<\/p>\n

Pottawatomie County sheriff\u2019s deputies responded to the scene and were able to determine that four individuals had made unauthorized access to the school and caused more than $3,000 worth of damage to school property, officials said.<\/p>\n
Detectives were able to identify all four individuals and all four individuals were arrested between Aug. 3 and Aug. 4, said Pottawatomie County Sheriff Doug Adams.<\/p>\n
All four were arrested in connection with burglary; felony criminal damage to property; criminal trespass; and contributing to a child\u2019s misconduct <\/p>\n
Three of the arrested individuals were identified as:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Lane Mathies, 18, of St. George, who was released from the Pottawatomie County Jail in Westmoreland after posting a $15,000 bond.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Gabriel Summerlin, 19, of Manhattan, who remained Wednesday in the Pottawatomie County Jail on a $15,000 bond.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Kody Kemp II, 18, of Ogden, who remained Wednesday in the Pottawatomie County Jail on a $15,000 bond.<\/p>\n
\u2022 A 16-year-old boy from Manhattan was taken into custody on charges of burglary; felony criminal damage to property; and criminal trespass.<\/p>\n
Adams said the boy\u2019s name wasn\u2019t being released and that he was turned over to Juvenile Intake.<\/p>\n
Adams said the Pottawatomie County Sheriff\u2019s Office thanked the Riley County Police Department for its assistance with the case. <\/p>\n
