No one was hit by the gunfire, per the report. <\/p>\n<p>Jennifer and Chase Lackard were each charged attempted murder, attempted assault, criminal possession of a firearm, conspiracy, and reckless endangerment, the outlet noted. <\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mountvernonny.gov\/m\/newsflash\/home\/detail\/1043\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mount Vernon Police Department<\/a> on Wednesday said it is &#8220;aware of the criminal charges filed by the Bronx County District Attorney\u2019s Office Jennifer Lackard,&#8221; adding that she was fired from her position as the department&#8217;s deputy commissioner of wellness. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Effective immediately, the City of Mount Vernon has terminated Jennifer Lackard\u2019s employment,&#8221; police said in a statement. &#8220;The allegations are unrelated to her duties with the Mount Vernon Police Department and do not stem from any conduct associated with the department or the performance of her official responsibilities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Police said the department &#8220;will not comment on the underlying allegations&#8221; because they are part of &#8220;an active criminal matter.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abc7ny.com\/post\/mount-vernon-deputy-commissioner-accused-driving-son-bronx-gang-shooting-scene\/19624734\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">WABC<\/a> reported that Lackard&#8217;s son has a history with police.<\/p>\n<p>Lackard pleaded not guilty to the charges and her bail was set at $75,000.
