MOTT HAVEN, Bronx (WABC) — Two people were injured after a three-vehicle crash sent an SUV over a railing on the Major Deegan Expressway early Saturday morning.<\/p>\n
The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. as all three vehicles were traveling southbound on the expressway.<\/p>\n
Police say a Kia Sorento traveling in the right lane attempted to change lanes and struck a BMW traveling in the middle lane.<\/p>\n
The impact caused the BMW to spin sideways before it was struck by a Honda Accord traveling behind it.<\/p>\n
The Kia then lost control, struck a railing and went over the side of the expressway.<\/p>\n
Three women were inside the Kia. Two were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, while the third refused medical attention.<\/p>\n
The driver of the BMW was taken to Montefiore Medical Center as a precaution..<\/p>\n
Two people inside the Honda refused medical attention at the scene.<\/p>\n
Police say no criminality is suspected in the crash.<\/p>\n
