The summer continues, and so does parade season, with the next one right around the corner.<\/p>\n

Sixth Avenue will be ablaze with the colors of the Dominican flag as the 44th annual New York City Dominican Day Parade<\/a> returns this Sunday, August 9. Starting at 11 a.m., the event will bring the joy of Quisqueya to the Avenue of the Americas.<\/p>\n

This year’s theme is “Identity and Culture,” and several prominent Dominican figures will be recognized. Among the parade’s stars are Shino Aguakate and Lizbel Ortiz, and the parade king will be media personality and radio host Frederick Mart\u00ednez (“El Pach\u00e1”). This year’s Grand Marshal will be Dr. Ram\u00f3n Tallaj of SOMOS Community Care, and a legacy award will be presented to Goya Foods.<\/p>\n

The parade will take place on Sunday, August 9, starting at 11 a.m. The parade will take place along Sixth Avenue, from 37th Street to 55th Street.<\/p>\n

Telemundo 47 and NBC New York will participate in the event with their own float. We will be broadcasting the parade on all our digital platforms and on this page<\/a> starting at 11 a.m.<\/p>\n

Street closures for Dominican Day Parade<\/p>\n

The following streets will be closed on Sunday, August 9, 2026, for the event:<\/p>\n

6th Avenue, between 37th and 38th Streets<\/p>\n

36th Street, between Broadway and 5th Avenue<\/p>\n

37th and 38th Streets, between 5th and 7th Avenues<\/p>\n
